This section helps to explain our fees as well as relating questions about discounts and supplements.

How much are the fees?

The basic fees are £2,395. These are inclusive of arrival/departure transfers from London/Norwich airports (at specific times), an arrivals reception buffet dinner, all academic tuition, private en-suite accommodation in a shared flat with other participants for the duration of the Summer School, an inclusive social programme which covers evening and weekend day trips, a finale social evening off campus, and a celebration ceremony, professional photographs and a gala dinner.

Are there any discounts?

Yes! We offer an early application rate of £2,155, which is still inclusive of all the activity above! Don't miss the early submission deadline of 28 February! If you are studying at one of our Partner institutions you are entitled to a 10% discount on your basic fee regardless of when you submit your application, as long as your deposit is submitted by 17 May and fees (balance) paid in full by 24 May 2013.

How do I know if my university or college is a Partner institution?

Click on the link on our Frequently Asked Questions page for a list. You can also ask staff at your institution's Study Abroad office or email us at summerstudyabroad@uea.ac.uk to find out. Plus, we will check the current home institution of all accepted applicants and let you know if a Partner discount applies in the balance due.

What else do I have to pay for?

Your transfer into and out from the UK is your own responsibility. You may also have to pay for a visa to gain entry in to the UK. If you select the modules Contemporary British Theatre or Managing People a supplement applies to cover the cost of 2 weeks' accommodation in London and entry fees, for example to The Globe Theatre. You can also choose to purchase our catering package and/or additional social activities.

What about the cost of food?

En-suite accommodation is provided in a shared flat with a communal kitchen and dining area and many students chose to get together with their flat mates and cook shared meals in the evenings. There is a supermarket on campus and a further two within a short walk from campus as well as several large supermarkets within the city, so it's easy to buy supplies for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Of course there are dozens and dozens of restaurants in the city of Norwich, many you'll have heard of including Yo Sushi, Wagamamas, Nandos and Carluccios, as well as many independent cafes, bars and restaurants. We also have a range of restaurants and cafes on campus and we've arranged a special deal for a full catering package. See our Pricing Guide for further details.

When will the programme fees be due?

The non refundable deposit will need to be paid by 17 April. The full programme fee will need to be received by us no later than 24 May.

Do I have to pay my entire fee in one lump sum?

No. A non-refundable deposit of £200 will be paid initially to secure your place. The remainder of the fee could be paid in instalments or can be paid in one lump sum by 24 May. Upon acceptance, students will be provided with a unique number so that fees submitted are allocated directly to a personal student account.

How much is the deposit?

A £200 deposit is needed to secure a place on the University of East Anglia's International Summer School. This fee will then be deducted from the overall fee balance. There is also a deposit to secure the catering bundle and the social programme bundle.

How can I pay my fees?

There are a number of ways that you can pay your initial deposit and the final balance of your fees:

Uni-Pay is our preferred option for receiving payments from students who are outside the UK. Uni-Pay provides a quick and simple method for international payments by local bank transfer and facilitates payment by credit or debit card. Go to the UEA Uni-Pay portal at www.uea.ac.uk/international/Uni-Pay.

You can also pay via credit card by telephoning the UEA Cashiers Office during UK business hours (TEL: +44 1603 592687) and giving your credit card details over the telephone.

Alternatively you can pay by direct bank transfer to the UEA account shown on the Payment Notice Form on the UEA Uni-Pay portal. If you choose to pay this way, please send this form to the address or fax number shown on our homepage. Please note there can be severe delays in receiving payment by direct bank transfer from abroad and you are responsible for any fees. This may be the best way to pay from within the UK.

Please note that the name of the bank account to pay your deposit to is 'University of East Anglia'.

In all cases you will need to have your unique student number and to state that fees are for the International Summer School. Please do not attempt to make a payment until you have been accepted and have been provided with your unique student reference number. This will be provided to you by email and in an invoice detailing the deposit amount due.

Are there any scholarships available?

Yes. The University of East Anglia is offering one full academic scholarship to cover the full basic fee plus the cost of a catering package, and six, £500.00 academic scholarships for our 2013 programme. Scholarship applications must be submitted before 28 February to be considered, and further details are available on our Fees and Apply pages.

Can I receive a refund if I withdraw from the International Summer School?

Yes. Students who self-withdraw from the Summer School the initial deposit will not be returned. Students who withdraw from the Summer School before 1 June and have paid their fees in full will be entitled to a full refund, minus the initial deposit (£200) and minus a £300 withdrawal fee. Students who withdraw from the programme from 1 June to 29 June due to medical or visa reasons may be entitled to a refund of up to 50% of the full balance paid, depending on the module selected, and upon sight of documentary evidence. This is to cover advance payments made by the University for accommodation and external bookings. Withdrawal on the basis of medical or visa reasons must be submitted in writing before 29 June for consideration. Refunds will not be considered under other circumstances. Refunds will not be considered after 29 June.
