Student Ambassadors

We know that those best placed to enthuse young people about progressing onto university are those currently experiencing it!

That's why we utilise the experience, subject knowledge and enthusiasm of a cohort of nearly 200 Student Ambassadors to work with us during various talks and activities in schools and colleges and during events on campus.

Our Student Ambassadors are current University students who have specifically expressed an interest in raising the aspirations of current school and college students by giving a taste of university life through their own experiences.

Student Ambassadors complete a comprehensive series of training modules including Child Protection; Communication Skills; and Equality & Diversity as well as developing skills to equip them in being effective role models, and are all in receipt of a Criminal Records Bureau disclosure at Enhanced level.

Often our Student Ambassadors supplement a talk or activity delivered by a member of staff and answer questions about university life and what it's really like to chose courses, study away from home, prepare for exams and make the most of the experience. With appropriate, positive responses their support is a significant asset to our work.

If you have any questions about our Student Ambassador Scheme please let us know by emailing ambassadors@uea.ac.uk, and one of the Outreach Team will contact you.
