Looked After Children

The University recognises that Looked After Children and Care Leavers face a number of significant challenges on the path to higher education. We are strongly committed to ensuring that this group is encouraged and supported in overcoming these challenges.

In August 2009 the University was awarded the Buttle UK Quality Mark for Care Leavers in Higher Education, in recognition of the support and encouragement we offer to Looked After Children and Care Leavers throughout the higher education life cycle.

"University was the first time in my life where I actually felt someone believed in me and that I was good enough to do something. Accepting my place was the best decision I ever made!"
