Students studying health related courses such as Physiotherapy, Nursing and Social Work will be able to get additional financial support.
Funding for students studying NHS courses starting in 2012 has now been confirmed. Students studying Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy will not pay Tuition Fees; these will be covered by the NHS. In addition, students will be able to apply for a small non-means tested Grant and a means tested Bursary from the NHS, and a reduced rate non-means tested Living Cost Loan (also known as a Maintenance Loan) from Student Finance England. Students on NHS funded courses (i.e. where no fee is payable from the student) offered by the University are not eligible for a University bursary. NHS funded courses are those offered by the School of Nursing Sciences and School of Allied Health Professions.
