What Factors Are Taken Into Account?
Your application form and the reference give us a good deal of information about you. For the majority of candidates the most important factors will be:
Achievement in GCSE or GCE O-levels and any other examinations already taken
Personal interests and extra-curricular activities
Reference
There are no set rules for considering an application; we consider candidates as individuals and assess each individual application on its own merits. The results of AS level examinations will help inform the decision making process, but offers will not be made to students based on Year 12 performance alone, and those who are unable to include details of their AS-level performance on their application will not be disadvantaged.
For some courses, interviews may be used as part of the selection process. We do not normally ask to see your Record of Achievement, but you may bring it with you to an interview.
Please note from 2012 the University will be collecting contextual data from UCAS but will not be using this as a basis for admission. The data is being collected to help inform our use of contextual data in future admissions cycles.
