Skiing!!

The first UEA SA Skiing Trip was enjoyed by all and we hope to run the holiday again next year.  Look out for more info about this year's trip in your next SAM.

New Events for 2013!

The Social Committee have been working hard to get together a list of events for you to enjoy during 2013.   March offers the popular Seething Observatory and a beer tasting at the Belgian Monk.    There are lots of days out and other events planned which will be announced in the next issue of SAM.

Book Club - Christmas Draw

After enjoying some reading time and festive cakes, the Book Club held a free Christmas raffle draw on Wednesday 15 December 2010.  Bev Hughes was the lucky winner of a £10 Waterstones Voucher.

Charity Christmas Bingo 2010 

The Charity Bingo night, held on 10 December 2010 in the Pavilion, raised £115 which is to be donated to Arthritis Research UK. The charity, drawn by ballot on the evening, was nominated by Helena Martin (INTO).

Thank you to all who attended and helped raise money for this good cause.

Monthly Bookswap Event

Come along to the Staff Association Room in the Pavilion on the first Wednesday of each month from 12.15pm to 1.45pm and swap your books!

Bring in the books you’ve read and place them on the shelves and take away another book to read. It’s as simple as that.  Tea and coffee will be available and you are welcome to bring your lunch and settle down for a reading session or a chat about books with other ‘book swappers’.

Free Lunchtime Walks

If you fancy some lunchtime exercise why not stride out with Beverley Youngman on a Monday lunchtime.  Beverley runs lunchtime walks and now runs a dedicated Staff Association walk on a Monday lunchtime.   It leaves from outside Registry at 1pm sharp, starting on Monday 18 October 2010.

Pavilion - Licensing Regulations

In order to comply with regulations governing the use of premises, we have been advised by County Hall that each member can bring up to 2 guests to events that we hold at the Colney Lane Pavilion.  Members will need to be aware of this rule when booking events.  This restriction on the number of guests members can bring does not apply to trips, though there may be some restrictions according to demand.
