Broadly speaking our internationally important research involves the study of society and the manner in which people behave and impact on the world around us. We achieve this through obtaining funding from a range of organisations such as the UK research councils, UK and European Government, charities and commercial organisations.

The Faculty provides a vibrant and stimulating environment for social science research for both academic colleagues and postgraduate research students. This is recognised in the most recent national Research Assessment Exercise and through the continued support of our research funders.
