Postgraduate Research Office

Since 1 August 2011 PGR support staff from the four faculties have been brought together in one office (in the Elizabeth Fry Building room 2.30) as part of the University's new PGR, Partnerships, and Equality and Diversity, with CRB, Service (PPE). The responsibilities of the PGR Office encompass the admission, registration and induction of all new postgraduate research students. It oversees all aspects of postgraduate training, the supervisory system, annual reporting procedures, arrangements for thesis submission and the appointment of examiners. It provides advice and support to supervisors and students on all matters relating to academic progress.

The SSF team in the PGR Office staff provide assistance with all the administrative aspects related to your registration as a postgraduate research student and respond to a wide variety of enquiries from students and academic staff across the Faculty of Social Sciences at the UEA.

This site provides information and advice relating to research degrees in the Social Sciences at UEA. We recommend that you look at the section on Frequently Asked Questions as it may provide answers to some of your questions. There are also several links to forms and publications which can be downloaded.

We hope you find the information on this site useful and if you cannot find the answer to your query here, then please do come along to the PGR Office and we will be pleased to assist.

The Faculty of Social Sciences consists of six Schools - International Development, Economics, Law, Education and Lifelong Learning, Social Work and Psychology, and the Norwich Business School.
