Guidance to Students on Conduct in Exams and Course Tests

Marking Criteria and Descriptors

Schools publish marking criteria in Handbooks or via other material, at both undergraduate and taught postgraduate level.  Students and staff are advised to contact their Learning and Teaching Services Hub for further information and guidance.

The University has developed a template - Undergraduate Marking Descriptors, which may be of assistance to Schools in designing or reviewing their own marking schemes.  Course teams may also wish to consider whether Assessment Specifications would be helpful in communicating intended outcomes to students.

In addition, the University has developed specific SpLD Marking Guidelines for marks of both undergraudate and taught postgraduate examinations and course tests where a sticker has been used to flag that the student has a Specifice Learning Difficulty.  Further guidance can be obtained from the Dean of Student's Office.
