Courses and Modules

At UEA, you will be enrolled on a Programme of Study, on a Course that consists of Modules.  A way to think of this is:

The Programme says which School and what award you are aiming for in your studies. e.g. AMS and a BA (Hons)
The Course (or Route) says more about what areas you'll study on the way to that award e.g. American and English Literature
The Modules are more specific about what topics you may cover or will need to cover to follow that Course e.g.Amercian Novel in the Early 20th Century

These pages link to information on how to choose Modules (if you have choices on your Course) and the details of what your Programme is intended for, what you ought to be learning and how.

Our Programmes are always under review to ensure we are delivering the most relevant, up to date subjects in the best way we can.  One way to support that process is to meet regularly to discuss the business of learning at a school of faculty level.  Guidance on how this works can be found here: Guidance for Students on Committees [Word 27K]
