Your dissertation can be the high point of your course, an opportunity to develop your own research project with greater independence and depth. Successfully completing your dissertation can be a challenge, but a rewarding one. It builds on the skills and knowledge you have developed during your degree so far, and applies them at a higher level to produce a long and complex piece of individual research. Unlike other assignments, you will only be writing one dissertation, and many students find further guidance on designing, organising and writing up this important piece of work helpful.


The Learning Enhancement Team offer a variety of resources to support you in writing your dissertation, including our Dissertation Workshop Programme. 

If you are unable to attend these workshops but would like guidance with your dissertation the Learning Enhancement Team offers one to one drop-in appointments and tutorials. These provide an opportunity to spend time with an experienced tutor looking at an aspect of your dissertation.  

We also offer a range of study guides related to dissertation writing.
