Sticker System

Conditions of use (course tests and examinations)

Numbered stickers will be issued by the Dean of Students' Office on request to those students who have previously provided appropriate evidence of a specific learning difficulty (SpLD).  The students will be asked to read and sign conditions of use, be given the opportunity to ask any questions they may have and will be handed a copy of the conditions for their future reference.

The stickers are provided for the purpose of advising markers (internal and external) that the script has been produced by a student with a specific learning difficulty (SpLD) and should be marked in accordance with guidelines approved by the University.

The conditions of use to be signed by the student are listed below.

  • The use of stickers is optional but if you choose not to use a sticker, fail to attach one, or forget to take one to the exam or course test, you will be unable to base an appeal against the mark on the grounds of your specific learning difficulty (SpLD)
  • A sticker should be placed on the front of the answer book but should not cover any information printed or written on the page.
  • It is your responsibility to keep the stickers safe.  If you lose them you should report the loss immediately to the Disability Team Administrator in the Dean of Students' Office.
  • You must not under any circumstances allow anyone else to use your stickers.  Misuse of stickers will be dealt with under the University's Disciplinary Procedures.

If you require further clarification please contact Ian Mortimer, Disability Team Administrator, on 01603 592891 or email ian.mortimer@uea.ac.uk
