Fairtrade

The University of East Anglia is a Fairtrade University

As its name implies, Fairtrade is all about fairness. It is about better prices, decent living conditions, local sustainability and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in developing countries. It enables smaller producers to improve their position and have more control over their lives.

The University and the Union of UEA Students are committed to supporting, using and promoting Fairtrade products wherever we can.

The University and the Union sell as many Fairtrade products as possible in their catering outlets and shops and use Fairtrade tea and coffee whenever such refreshments are offered.

Fairtrade Fortnight is now on!  Follow this link to see the offers and events being arranged for Fairtrade Fortnight (27 February - 11 March).

Our Fairtrade Policy can be accessed here.
The University was awarded Fairtrade University status in 2009.  The Fairtrade Steering Group continues to promote and raise awareness around the campus.  One of the most visible of this is our coffee and snack bar in the heart of the campus, Cafe Direct.
