International Students

The Faculty of Science at the University of East Anglia welcomes applications from international students.

There are over 2000 non-UK students studying at UEA, from over 100 countries across the globe. These include undergraduates, visiting and exchange students and postgraduate students studying towards a variety of qualifications. UEA offers a high quality educational experience for international undergraduates, as well as a friendly and supportive staff and student community.

Going overseas to further your studies will be a major undertaking for you, both personally and financially. Our aim is to ensure that it is a rewarding experience, intellectually, academically, socially and culturally. At UEA Norwich, we will do everything we can to provide you with any help and advice you may need between now and your graduation. The International Office can provide you with more detailed information concerning the University, our courses and your application.

Application

All applicants applying for full-time undergraduate study in the UK must apply via the UK Universities & Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). To find out more please see the International Office website.

If you are offering a non A-level background please supply as much information as you can about your qualifications on your UCAS form. This information should include the name and level of the qualification, the subjects taken, the name of the examination board, and the results you have achieved. If you have not yet completed your qualifications please ask your academic referee to give an indication of your likely performance in these qualifications in his/her reference about you.

Language Requirements

You will need to have a good command of English to study at degree level. All our students are asked to provide evidence of their English language ability. The minimum English language requirement for entry to the University of East Anglia is one of the following:

You will be able to find out how to take these examinations from your college or university, or from the local office of the British Council.

Improving your English

INTO is an English Language teaching service provider located at UEA although it is an independent organisation. INTO can advise students on their likely need for language training before they begin their studies. This may be provided by a 4, 8 or 12 week pre-sessional course, based at UEA, during the summer, or a longer Study Programme, for those who have more progress to make with their English. Further information can be found on the INTO website.
