Accommodation

More than 700 new study bedrooms have been built on campus in the past two years, each with its own en suite shower and WC.

Equally impressive are the award-winning Constable Terrace and Nelson Court, which also have en suite facilities, and the Grade-2 listed pyramid-shaped ziggurats of Norfolk and Suffolk Terrace, which enjoy stunning campus views and are among the best-known sights of UEA. Many students enjoy living in the University Village, just over the road. All in all, there are around 3,500 student rooms available, and our rents compare favourably with those of other universities. The fully furnished, centrally heated rooms are grouped around shared kitchens where you can cook for yourself or with friends. To see the different types of room available please visit the Accommodation Office web site. All our accommodation is self-catering, but if you feel like a change, there are plenty of places to eat on campus.

Help is on hand

Living in residences is a great way to meet people and make friends. If you do have any worries or questions, you can talk to your Resident Tutor –  normally a second year, final year or postgraduate student who lives in your residence. Family accommodation UEA has about 46 two-bedroom houses or flats for students with families and there is plenty of rented housing in Norwich.

Students with disabilities

Students who have restricted mobility, require personal support or who have other special requirements are welcome. Well-adapted accommodation for wheelchair users is available in certain residences and we can make modifications to adapt other accommodation.

Accommodation guaranteed

You will be guaranteed a place in university residences provided that you are starting a new full-time course in the autumn, have formally accepted an offer of a place and applied for accommodation by 1 September, and your registered address is more than 12 miles from UEA. Undergraduate students from non-European Union countries are guaranteed accommodation throughout their course provided they also meet these minimum requirements.
