The University of East Anglia has an established set of guidelines which lay the framework for the highest standards of personal conduct in research and applies to all staff. These guidelines are available here. These are the minimum standards expected, but of course any additional Professional or Funding Body requirements must also be adhered to.
The guidelines make it clear that research should be conducted with integrity and the following behaviour, whilst undertaking research, is unacceptable to the University:
- Fabrication
- Falsification
- Plagiarism
- Misrepresentation
- Mismanagement or inadequate preservation of data
- Breach of Duty of Care
