The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE)

The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) is a periodic national exercise which assesses the quality of UK research and informs the selective distribution of public funds for research by the four UK higher education funding bodies. It is also used as a variable in various ranking exercises by other national and international bodies.

The results of the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, announced on Thursday December 18th 2008, have confirmed the University of East Anglia as one of the leading research institutions in the UK.
