Mickey O'Connell and Oliver Alfridijanta win Student Transformation Awards
Huge congratulations to Psychology Students Mickey O'Connell and Oliver Alfridijanta who both picked up awards at the 2016 UEA 'Student Transformation Awards'
Masters Student Mickey O'Connell; who also completed his BSc Psychology undergraduate degree at the School of Psychology, was awarded the prize for 'Student Rep of the Year'.
This year, Mickey took on the role of Student Representative for the School of Psychology Masters degree programmes, having previously been part of the School's award winning undergraduate staff student liaison committee. The award for UEA 'Student Rep of the Year' is a fantastic achievement and a true testament to Mickey's dedication to providing a strong student voice and improving the academic experience of his colleagues.
Oliver, who will graduate from UEA this summer, picked up a 'Society Honours' award for his role in the UEA Video Games society.
The UEA Union of Students are all about Students Transforming. From being a student manager in one of the SU outlets to running campaigns and societies, thousands of UEA students every year get involved in activities and make a huge difference.
This year’s Student Transformation Awards provided the opportunity to acknowledge students who have developed and grown as a result of involvement in the SU, whilst celebrating the impact that those students have had on other students, the University and the wider world.
The awards ceremony took place at the Nick Rayns LCR on Friday 9 June 2016.
