Legal Issues in Clinical Practice |
| Venue: Norwich Research Park Details: This is a multi-method course which provides a basic introduction to a number of key legal issues which feature in clinical practice. The course offers the opportunity to explore recent developments in clinical negligence, consent, confidentiality, human rights and allocation of resources. It will enhance awareness and improve understanding of an important range of medico-legal considerations which are increasingly affecting the everyday working lives of healthcare professionals. Advanced Legal Issues in Clinical Practice |
| Venue: Norwich Research Park Details: This is a multi-method course which offers an insight into advanced legal issues which feature in clinical practice. The course provides the opportunity for participants to build on existing knowledge which they will have acquired after attending the first Legal Issues in Clinical Practice course. It explores the legal doctrine of informed consent, treatment of minors, the rights of mature teenagers, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and best interests. It will enhance awareness and improve understanding of an important range of medico-legal considerations which are increasingly affecting the everyday working lives of healthcare professionals. Contemporary Dilemmas in Healthcare Law |
| Venue: Norwich Research Park Details: This is a multi-method course which offers an insight into a range of legal and ethical dilemmas which have arisen in healthcare practice over the last two decades. The course provides the opportunity for participants to build on existing knowledge which they will have acquired after attending the basic and advanced Legal Issues in Clinical Practice courses. It explores the legal issues surrounding end-of-life decision making, physician assisted suicide, advance decision making, human rights and assisted reproduction, legal aspects of organ transplantation and liability for wrongful birth. It will enhance awareness and improve understanding of an important range of medico-legal considerations which are increasingly affecting the everyday working lives of healthcare professionals.
