The annual Sarah Adeane Studentship is awarded for postgraduate studies in Art History taking into account both the merit and need of the applicant.
Rules
- The Sarah Adeane Studentship shall normally be awarded annually for postgraduate study in Art History.
- The studentship shall be awarded by the Board of the School of Art History and World Art Studies on the recommendation of a Prize Committee constituted by the Board for that purpose. The Committee shall at their discretion take into account both merit and need.
- The total value of the studentship shall be a sum not exceeding the income from the endowment donated in memory of Sarah Adeane.
- The funds shall normally be applied to defraying the costs of all or part of fees and maintenance.
- The funds may when appropriate be applied to the purchase of books, travel expenses or other purposes which support postgraduate study.
- If in any year no candidate is judged to be of sufficient merit, the studentship shall not be awarded.
- If two or more candidates are judged to be of equal merit, the studentship may be divided.
- The studentship may be awarded to the same candidate more than once.
