Three Arthur Batchelor Prizes are awarded annually for outstanding progress by a second-year Art History student, for the best undergraduate dissertation in Art History and a bursary for postgraduate studies in Art History.
Rules
- The following Prizes and Bursary shall be awarded annually in the School of World Art Studies and Museology: (1) an Arthur Batchelor Prize for outstanding progress by a second-year Art History student; (2) an Arthur Batchelor Prize for the best undergraduate dissertation in Art History; (3) an Arthur Batchelor Bursary for postgraduate studies in Art History.
- The total value of the Prizes and Bursary shall be a sum not exceeding the income from that part of the Arthur Batchelor Fund set aside for this purpose. The Prizes and Bursary shall be used for a purpose approved by the Head of the School of World Art Studies and Museology.
- The Prizes and Bursary shall be awarded by the Board of the School of World Art Studies and Museology on the recommendation of the appropriate Prize Committee.
- If in any year no candidate in any category is judged to be of sufficient merit, the relevant Prize or Bursary shall not be awarded; if two or more candidates in any category are judged to be of equal merit, the relevant Prize or Bursary may be divided.
