Funding for Master's Programmes
The following opportunities are on offer to candidates who apply for Masters programmes within the field of Political, Social and International Studies.
The School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies is pleased to announce the availability of 1 Home/EU MA funded studentship for entry in 2017/18. Studentships are available as +1 (Master's only) or 1+3 (Master's and PhD). For UK residents awards consist of fees (£7,300) and a tax-free stipend of £9,681. For EU residents awards are on a fees only basis (£7,300).
All applicants will be assessed on the merit of their full application.
Applicants wishing to be considered for a 1+3 studentship (Master's and PhD) should apply for a place on both a Master's programme and a PhD programme in the Faculty and hold an offer on the MA programme by 11 January 2017. PhD offers will be considered subsequently.
Applicants wishing to be considered for a +1 studentship (Master's only) should apply for a place on the Master's programme by 31 March 2017. This funding is part of the University’s commitment to developing and enhancing postgraduate education in all disciplines of the Arts and Humanities.
Please note that priority will be given to 1+3 applications.
50% Final Year Undergraduate Continuation Scholarships
Just graduated with a 1st class degree? Congratulations! You can now progress onto a postgraduate course starting in September 2017 and receive UEA’s 50% fee reduction scholarship. UEA Alumni 10% Scholarships
We highly value our Alumni at UEA, so a 10% fee reduction scholarship is available to graduates looking to stay with us or return for postgraduate study in September 2017. The following scholarships will be available to MA and MRes students in the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies, who are looking to start their course in September 2017:
- We are offering two scholarships worth 50% of tuition fees for academic excellence. Due to funding restrictions these scholarships are only available to UK/EU students.
- £1,000 scholarships will be available for International students who are beginning their course in September 2017. These scholarships will be awarded on academic merit by achieving IELTS (or equivalent) 7.5 overall with at least 6 in each component, and the overall strength of their application.
In order to be considered for any of these awards, applicants should submit their application for an MA or MRes course no later than 31 March 2017. Please note that in order to be considered for a scholarship, applicants do not need to submit a separate application as the scholarships will be awarded on academic merit and the overall strength of the application.
School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies International Scholarships for Students from Japan
Three Scholarships worth £3,000 each.
Eligibility: Self-funded Japanese nationals. There is no separate application form. To be considered applicants will need to be holding an offer of a place on a postgraduate course in the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies by 28 February 2017. The selection criteria will be based on an applicant’s achievements, academic credentials and professional track record. These scholarships cannot be awarded in combination with any other University of East Anglia award.
How to apply: All eligible candidates to whom the School have made an offer are automatically considered for nomination.
Graduates from our School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies courses at UEA are guaranteed a 20% fee scholarship to return to study for their Master's degree within the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies.
