UEA School of Pharmacy in the top ten for Pharmacy and Pharmacology in the latest league table
The School of Pharmacy at UEA was ranked 6th in Pharmacy in the UK and 9th overall in the latest Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide.
The league table in the Times combines pharmacology and pharmacy so that several of the Universities in the table do not actually provide an education leading to the MPharm degree and, ultimately, to a career in pharmacy. UEA was the first of the new generation of institutions to offer a pharmacy degree and since the School opened its doors in 2003, it has been highly rated for its student support, the innovation in its teaching and for its research.
Professor Mark Searcey, Head of the School, said “The latest league table position reflects the hard work of the staff, their dedication to making the student experience as welcoming and supportive as possible and to their status as world leading researchers in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences. It is particularly gratifying as we have just welcomed the second cohort of students in our new BSc in Pharmacology and Drug Discovery, a course that has added a new dimension to our undergraduate provision and has added enormously to our dedicated, excellent and enthusiastic student body.”
