The UK Pharmacy Care Plan service
Dr Michael Twigg and colleagues from the UEA School of Pharmacy have just published the first paper describing and presenting recruitment and qualitative data from the Pharmacy Care Plan Service. The service was implemented in West Yorkshire in 38 pharmacies by the Community Pharmacy Future group - a collaboration of four of the largest multiple pharmacy groups (LloydsPharmacy, Boots, Well and Rowlands). The paper, published in PLOS One, describes the service design and evaluation and details the initial recruitment results. It also discusses the results from a focus group with participating pharmacists where we asked them for their feedback on providing the service. The work has also been presented at the Health Services Research and Pharmacy Practice conference in Nottingham (#hsrpp2017).
Final outcome data and cost effectiveness results will be published in due course. Read the article here.
