A successful Pharmacy Research Day
The recent Pharmacy Research Day was a success with more than 80 registered delegates attending on the day. All presentations throughout the day, from postgraduate students, post-docs to faculty members were well-received by the audience. Poster sessions were well attended and our PGR students presented their work to fellow students, staff, and importantly, to the judges. Congratulations to Serena Monaco who won Best Poster for Healthy Ageing (sponsored by the British Pharmacological Society) and Carys Thomas who won Best Poster for Next Generation Therapeutics theme (sponsored by Strem Chemicals UK). All delegates could vote for the Best Poster in the People’s Choice award (sponsored by Veolia Water Technologies) and our winner was Mahmoud Abdelhamid. Also, we held our second Pharmacy 3 minute thesis competition and Lucka Bibic walked away with the £150 prize for Best 3 Minute Thesis presentation. Congratulations to all our well-deserving winners.
We held a networking competition for visiting our exhibitor stalls and Lucka Bibic won the raffle prize (£25 Amazon voucher) for this; Nursabah Atli won the People’s choice voting form raffle (£25 Amazon voucher). Congratulations to both and thanks to everyone for taking part in the voting and networking competitions.
Finally, thanks to everyone who stayed to clear away at the end, including Rachel and Becky – special thanks for all their efforts for making the day run smoothly, and thanks to Adie Russen (https://www.flickr.com/photos/adie-russen/) for taking photos throughout the day.
