MPhil and PhD
A 2:1 degree or above or a Master's degree in a professional field or a related health and social care area or equivalent. NB funded studentships have more specific entry requirements, please see individual projects for details.

MSc by Research
A 2:1 degree in a professional field or a related health and social care area or equivalent.

Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate evidence of appropriate English language proficiency, normally defined as a minimum IELTS score of 8 (Overall Band Score) or equivalent.

English Language Requirements

Each Faculty has a minimum English Language Requirement. International applicants are required to provide evidence of proficiency in the English language, if English is not their first language. If you need to provide this evidence it will be listed as a condition on your offer letter.

In the first instance, please consider our research themes and the interests of potential supervisors which can be found in their staff pages and contact your potential supervisor to develop your proposal. We welcome dialogue between potential applicants and supervisors.

When you have a clear idea about your research proposal, then please submit a full application. Applications can be made on line via www.uea.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/apply
