Symphony Orchestra and Choir
UEA Symphony Orchestra rehearses every Wednesday during semester and performs either alone or with UEA Choir at least three times a year. Past projects have included orchestral workshops, a performance of Sibelius' Symphony No.2 led by Sir Colin Davis - principal conductor with the London Symphony Orchestra - and a tour to Graz in Austria. The University Orchestra is conducted by Director of Music, Sharon Choa.
Auditions to join the orchestra will probably be held on Friday 27 September 2013 and Monday 30 September 2013. If you are interested in auditioning, please email musicevents@uea.ac.uk. Membership of UEA Symphony Orchestra is open to everyone.
UEA Choir enjoys membership from students from all departments of the university and UEA staff as well as members of the public. The choir rehearses under conductor Tom Primrose on Monday evenings during the autumn and spring semesters. Recent performances by the choir include Mozart's Requiem and Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms at St Andrew's Hall and Norwich Cathedral.
