Pianist Christopher Green-Armytage has played throughout Great Britain and in Europe, the USA and the Far East, establishing a reputation for his communicative musicianship.

Highlights of his performing career include appearances as concerto soloist at the Barbican, Festival Hall and Carnegie Hall. He has also performed at many major festivals and in broadcasts for BBC Radio 3.

He studied on scholarship at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Juilliard School. While still a student he won the Concert Artists' Guild Award in New York and received the Harriet Cohen Memorial Award in London.

As a chamber musician he was a member of the English Horn Trio with Richard Watkins and Pauline Lowbury. Their recordings for Hyperion were highly acclaimed in Classic CD and Gramophone. He currently plays in a piano trio with violinist Maiko Kawabata and cellist Anton Lucoszevieze.

In addition to his performing career Chris is much in demand as a teacher with pupils from as far afield as the US and China. He has been a visiting tutor at the University of East Anglia since 1989, and he is an examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, serving on both their grade exam and diploma panels.
