Recent research projects in the School of Music include:
'Developing a web-based Thematic Catalogue: The Music of Benjamin Britten'
Arts and Humanities Research Council Resource Enhancement Scheme
This project aimed to construct the first online, fully searchable thematic catalogue dedicated to a composer, the twentieth-century English musician Benjamin Britten. The catalogue will serve to increase knowledge of Britten's music and improve access to the uniquely rich research resources relating to it, located primarily at the Britten-Pears Library. Developed as a seamless web resource through the lifetime of the project, the catalogue will also be made available in printed form. Through the development of the catalogue, standards and structures will be defined that will help to inform the production of other web-based thematic catalogues in the future.
