The University of East Anglia has gained funding under the AHRC Resource Enhancement Scheme for an innovative and exciting project to develop a Benjamin Britten thematic catalogue, based on the resources of the Britten-Pears Library.
The project aims to provide a complete thematic catalogue of the musical works of the English composer Benjamin Britten, both to increase knowledge of this important corpus of twentieth-century music, and to enhance the availability of, and access to, the uniquely rich research resources relating to it. The project will focus on the development of the thematic catalogue as a seamless, fully searchable web resource incorporating and organising data from a wide range of electronic and non-electronic sources, but the primary aim extends to the publication in hard copy of the catalogue, the release of which will be timed for 2013, Britten's centenary.
For further details regarding the project please see the Britten-Pears Foundation's website.
