Making Research Count

Children’s Workforce Development Council
(CWDC)

Making Research Count has been commissioned by the CWDC to provide research support for the 2009-2010 CWDC programme of practitioner-led research projects, having successfully supported the projects in the previous year, 2008-2009.

The CWDC is commissioning over 60 such projects throughout England, and each successful practitioner is linked to an academic or researcher based in, or associated with, one of the universities in the Making Research Count network. For this project we are again working with the universities of Birmingham, Bristol and Northumbria. Practitioners will have a number of face-to-face meetings with their university link person, plus email and phone contact, to discuss the research design, methodology and subsequent findings.

The programme started in September 2009, and will end with a series of dissemination events in April 2010, scheduled to take place in London, Birmingham and York. General information about the CWDC is available on their website. Details of the projects funded during the first three years of the practitioner research programme – 46 projects in 2006-2007, 81 in 2007-2008 and 62 in 2008-2009 – are also available through their website.CWDC logo
