The Canadian Coast Guard College is pleased to announce that it now operates
a discussion list:
MARINE-L, The Marine Studies and Information List
MARINE STUDIES / SHIPBOARD EDUCATION / RESEARCH / NEWS
An open Forum for the discussion and development of marine related topics.
Interest areas include:

- Marine electronic communications, networking, maintenance,
- Marine management - shipping, port, finance, personnel;
- Marine resources management and environmental protection initiatives;
- Marine meteorology
- Fisheries science, protection and international policy;
- Marine/maritime publishing and publications;

- Sail-training;
It is the intent of the Canadian Coast Guard College to contact as many
marine training institutes, ship operating agencies and other groups of
marine interest as possible in order to expand the information base to which
we can all have access.
The Canadian Coast Guard College presently operates as a unit of the
Canadian Department of Transport and, as such, has access to centres of
responsibility for marine regulation implementation and enforcement, federal
vessel fleet management sources, marine environmental protection programs
and initiatives and, of course, the full marine education support mechanism
which includes an International Training office.
An imminent transfer to the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans will
open up new avenues of access to information regarding fisheries science and
protection, hydrography and oceanography.
