Message from the Dean

Welcome!

We are one of the UK's premier centres for teaching and research in professional education and training.

We are committed to excellence in all we do. Our programmes of Initial Teacher Education have received the highest gradings from OfSTED inspectors. Our Masters' and Doctoral programmes attract students from across the United Kingdom and all over the world, and many of our graduates now occupy senior positions in policy-making and in higher education.

We offer an innovative and exciting BA in Educational Studies and the recently launched BA in Physical Education & Sport and BA in Physical Education & Sport with Education Studies to meet the growing national demand for academic studies in the field of education. In addition to these full-time, three year degrees, we also offer the full-time, one year BSc in Physical Education & Sports Development top up degree.

We also provide programmes in Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning. Our courses are designed to meet a variety of educational needs for all ages across East Anglia, and are part of our commitment to the value of learning for all.

We are proud of both our local roots and our international links. We value our partnerships with East Anglian schools and colleges, with adult education groups and with governments and universities across the world.

We are a diverse, lively and welcoming academic community. We offer outstanding educational experiences: thoroughly practical, research-informed and forward-looking - and we trust you will be both enthused and inspired by the information within this website.

The EdD at UEA is a part-time course designed to encourage professionals to construct their own programme of research building towards a significant piece of work in 4 years. Early Years Professional Status Training
The first five years of a child's life are the most important in their development when they learn to build relationships and to deal with the world around them. Being an Early Years Professional (EYP) is a huge responsibility and, at the same time, one of the most rewarding jobs there is.

Please click here to find out more about the new Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) and how you can achieve the status in partnership with the University of East Anglia and University Campus Suffolk.
