The degree of ClinPsyD is awarded after three years on the basis of written assignments and clinical practice reports, including a critical appraisal of published work, an open-book statistics test, a literature review, a thesis proposal, two case reports, a professional development presentation, a recorded process report, a report of the service research project, ratings of clinical work in placements and oral presentations of clinical work, and a research thesis.  During the third year of the course each trainee has an oral examination conducted by an external examiner and an internal examiner on their research thesis.  All components of the assessment scheme must be passed separately.
