Holdstock Piachaud Prize

Holdstock Piachaud Prize

Medical Student’s Commentary Prize – up to £500

Closing Date:  31 January 2017

This is the seventh year of the Holdstock-Piachaud Prize which was set up to encourage students to learn about themes covered by Medicine, Conflict and Survival. Medicine, Conflict and Survival is an international journal for all those interested in health aspects of violence and human rights. It was founded in 1985 and is published quarterly by Taylor and Francis. The Journal plays an important role in debates around health, peace and violence.

We offer an annual prize, the Holdstock-Piachaud Prize, to students for writing a  commentary on a subject germane to our journal's themes. The first prize is £500, the second £200, and if the editors judge the winning entries to be of a sufficiently high standard, they may be published in the journal.
