FMH Lunch Time Lecture
Friday 28 April at 1230 in Arts 01.02, with snacks and refreshments available from 1200.
Open to all, this is a chance to hear from staff from across the faculty talk about their current research. Presenting at this particular event will be Dr Justin O'Grady (MED) and Dr Wendy Hardeman (HSC).
Dr Wendy Hardeman will give her talk titled "Promoting health and well-being through behaviour change”.
Wendy Hardeman is Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology at the School of Health Sciences. Her research programme focuses on the development and evaluation of behaviour change interventions to promote health and well-being. Wendy will provide an overview of her current empirical research into very brief, scalable interventions to promote physical activity in primary care and the community, and her methodological research into intervention specification, fidelity and process evaluation.
Dr Justin O'Grady will be giving his talk titled: ‘Improving the diagnosis and management of serious infection using nanopore metagenomic sequencing'
Dr Justin O’Grady is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Microbiology at Norwich Medical School. His research focusses on the rapid molecular diagnosis of infection. Justin will provide an overview of his group's work on applying metagenomic sequencing for the diagnosis of complex clinical syndromes such as sepsis, pneumonia and urinary tract infections.
