Key interest over my career has been guiding students to a greater appreciation of the structure and function through the examination of human structure. Human anatomy is an old discipline perceived to be difficult as it introduces the student to medical terminology that underpins clinical practice. Anatomy can be learnt by rote but understanding relies on the student developing a three dimensional image of the human body as visualised clinically with hands on examination and modern invasive clinical procedures.
Current responsibilities
Licensed teacher responsible for managing the Licensed Human Anatomy facility
Co-ordinator for all Gross Anatomy teaching in the MB and AHP programmes
Main Gross Anatomy Teacher for undergraduate programmes
Gross anatomy teacher for PG programmes of study within UEA and the N&NUH and the radiology Academy at the N&NUH
