3 Days and 4 Days for Midwifery Students
This module takes place over a 12 week period and is designed for those Registered Nurses and Midwives who, having graduated at degree level, do not wish to follow degree studies but are required to undertake an approved Mentorship Programme. Assessment is undertaken in practice by a qualified mentor and the portfolio is submitted to check the evidence is appropriate to meet the NMC requirements (NMC Standards to Support learning and assessment in practice 2008).
Students attend for an initial two days of learning to guide them in their studies and 0.5 day at the end. There is an expectation to use Blackboard for 2.5 days of study whilst undertaking the module.
It is essential whilst undertaking this module that the mentor preparation student supports a pre registration student in conjunction with a qualified mentor.
