Welcome to the Norwich Medical School at the University of East Anglia. The School has established a reputation for exciting and innovative approaches to education supported by a strong and rapidly developing research programme.
As part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences it has a growing emphasis on inter-professional co-operation in teaching and research.
The Medical Degree programme accepts graduates and other mature students as well as school leavers on to a 5 year integrated course on which clinical placements occur from first year onwards. The School also provides a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme and a number of taught Master’s programmes including a Master’s in Clinical Education and a Masters in Health Research.
The research environment of the University is very strong particularly in the Biological Sciences and Environmental Sciences. The Institute of Food Research and the John Innes Centre for Plant Biology are situated close by on the Norwich Research Park. The School itself is building a strong reputation in Population Medicine, Health Economics, and Diet and Health and BioMedicine with laboratory work now being concentrated in the newly built BioMedical Research Centre. There are excellent opportunities for building research collaborations across the Faculty of Health, the University and the Norwich Research Park.
