Key Research Interests

My research interests are broad and include the physical and emotional well-being of older people, especially their interaction with physical activity and nutrition. They also include medical education and assessment, preventive medicine, dietary assessment methods, and applied statistical methods including those used in epidemiology and clinical trials.

Teaching Interests

My main teaching activity and interest is quantitative research methods and critical appraisal for MB/BS undergraduates and other health professionals.

Activities include:
 Research methods (statistics, epidemiology and study design) for MB/BS students. The role includes lecturing, seminar-leading and tutoring, and also setting and marking analytical reviews (critical appraisal)
 From 2005 to 2011 I have been unit coordinator in this topic for Year 2.
