Spring Literary Festival: UPDATE

Next month’s appearance by Julie Myerson at the University of East Anglia’s Spring Literary Festival has been cancelled.

Julie Myerson’s publisher, Bloomsbury, has cancelled all public events for her book The Lost Child. The author was due appear at the university on Wednesday May 20 and will be replaced by Giles Foden, who will read from his new book Turbulence. 

Giles Foden (pictured) is the author of five books including The Last King of Scotland, Ladysmith, Zanzibar and his account of the Battle of Lake Tanganyika, Mimi and Toutou Go Forth. Turbulence is due to be published on June 4.

Giles worked as a journalist for Media Week magazine and became an assistant editor on the Times Literary Supplement, then deputy literary editor of The Guardian.  He is Professor of Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia.

The reading on May 20 takes place at 7pm, in Lecture Theatre 1 at the university. Tickets priced £6 (no concessionary rate) are available from UEA Box Office on 01603 508050. People who have bought tickets to see Julie Myerson can use them to attend the Giles Foden reading. Alternatively, for a refund please contact the box office.
