Festival of Chemistry at UEA
84 students from 21 schools in the East Anglia region will compete in the annual Salters' Festival of Chemistry at the University of East Anglia (UEA) on Wednesday April 28. Each school will be represented by a team of four 11-13 year olds. Read more

Looking ahead to reduce flood risks
A reduction in green house gas emissions and enhanced long-term flood management are needed to control the risk to the UK from future flooding, according to a major new national report published today by the DTI. The Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, based at the University of East Anglia, was a key partner in the strategic report and wrote several of the chapters. Read more

Polar clouds take a bite out of meteoric iron
Polar clouds are known to play a major role in the destruction of Earth's protective ozone layer, creating the springtime ozone hole above Antarctica. Now, scientists have found that polar clouds also play a significant role in removing meteoric iron from Earth's atmosphere. Read more
