Learning, Teaching and Quality Office

Welcome

Welcome to Learning and Teaching at the University of East Anglia. I hope that you find these web pages useful and informative. Responsibility for Learning and Teaching (L&T) has been delegated by the University Senate to the Learning and Teaching Committee (LTC), of which I am the chair. The LTC has a range of duties, the key ones being:

  • the development, implementation and review of learning and teaching strategies and UEA Codes of Practice, Policies and Procedures;
  • the development, review and implementation of regulations for degrees, diplomas and certificates;
  • the appointment of external examiners (UG and PG) and consideration of their reports;
  • consideration of concessions against the regulations;
  • arrangements for the regular update, monitoring and review of modules and courses;
  • quality enhancement of the student academic experience
  • relationships with Partner Colleges;
  • external quality assurance, including by professional and statutory bodies;
  • academic appeals and complaints;
  • professional misconduct and unsuitability and disciplinary procedures;
  • equal opportunities, including promotion of race equality and disability equality.

The LTC is assisted in the performance of these duties by the L&T Directorate.  Administrative support is provided by the Learning, Teaching and Quality Office and Faculty Associate Deans (LTQ). The Committee and its Directors work closely with each Faculty: Arts and Humanities; Health; Science; and Social Sciences and their constituent Schools. Attached to these web pages are the key documents that govern our approach to the internal quality assurance and enhancement of the academic standards of our provision and the quality of the learning opportunities available to all our students.
