Paddy Anstey is Senior Staff Development Officer in the Centre for
Staff and Educational Development, University of East Anglia, Norwich. At
UEA he has particular responsibility for IT-oriented staff development,
including that related to learning technology, and for UEA's
resource-based learning area for staff. His present work builds on many
years of experience in HE computing services, where his team was amongst
the earliest to recognise the importance of high quality application
oriented IT training provision, for staff and students alike.
He maintains an active R&D interest in a variety of areas, but in
the IT services community Paddy is probably best known for the JISC-funded
'SCAITS' project on Staff C&IT Skills, and for his work over very many
years with UCISA - which continues particularly via the 'IT Training
Skills' workshop, which he initiated and on which he remains a regular
tutor.
