Nordic Translation conference
The second Nordic Translation Conference will take place Thursday 4 - Saturday 6 April 2013 at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England, as part of the university's 50th anniversary celebrations. The keynote speakers are Andrew Chesterman, Riitta Oittinen, Ástráður Eysteinsson, and Anna Mauranen.

Beneath the Deluge, by Catherine M Brennan
Beneath the Deluge, a debut collection of poetry by Catherine M Brennan (pictured), is to be published by Cinnamon Press later this month. Catherine was born in Dublin and is a student on the poetry strand of this year's MA in Creative Writing. The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne (MA 1995) has returned to the top of the Irish bestseller chart, its 60th week at number one. Published two years ago in the UK, and subsequently translated into 32 languages, the book has been made into a film starring David Thewlis which will be released next month. Joe Dunthorne and Mohammed Hanif publish first novels
First novels by two recent UEA alumni have been nominated as 'books to watch' in 2008 in both the Guardian and the Observer . Joe Dunthorne (pictured above left) and Mohammed Hanif (pictured right) both graduated with distinction from the Creative Writing MA in 2005.
