Café Conversations
The School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing offers an annual series of café conversations. Café conversations are informal discussions held in public locations in the city (usually cafés, bars, restaurants, or similar); they are never held on university premises, since the point is to meet members of the public where they are.
The conversations are generally run by academics (staff members, PhD students, and occasionally MA students). The goal of these events is to bring the latest ideas or innovations from the academic context to people outside of academia and to facilitate their engagement with them.
