| What are the marking criteria for coursework? |
| The University has introduced revised senate scales to assist in the marking of coursework, dissertations and oral presentations |
| How does coursework get returned to students? |
| Coursework will be returned via either the Hubs or via the Module Organiser depending on the decision of the Module Organiser. Any uncollected work will be given back to advisers |
| Who do I contact for the preparation of exam papers? |
| Each School's Local Support Office supports in the preparation of exam papers. |
| What are the dates of the University examinations? |
| The dates for examinations for this academic year are found in Exam dates and deadlines 2012-13 |
| How do I book rooms at the University? |
| All booking requests that are for teaching sessions for course modules must be made via the relevant LTS hub. For full details on room booking see the Room Booking Office |
| Where do I obtain absence registers? |
| You can view your module information/timetable on e:Vision (Portal), this will have a link to the register. You can either print this or have it emailed to you as a spreadsheet |
| I have a student with repeated absence in seminars/lectures? |
| Ensure that the absence is recorded on e:Vision. For guidance on this see absence reporting e:Vision. The Hubs will keep absence reports. Absence or non-engagementsshould be followed up through General Regulation 13 |
| What is the New Academic Model? |
| The ‘New Academic Model’ is a new set of degree regulations and will be introduced for undergraduate students from 2013/14, New Academic Model for Postgraduate taught students will be at a later date . For more information see New Academic Model |
| I can't get hold of my Hub and I need to access a form? |
| Forms can now be found on the LTS website, see Staff Forms or Student Forms |

| How do I find out who my advisees are? |
| Staff can find out who their advisees are on e:Vision (Portal) |
| What does an Adviser do? |
| The Dean of Students provides a useful guide to Being an Adviser. This includes how to be a good adviser and what your advisee will expect of you |
| I'm an Adviser and one of my advisees does not turn up for arranged meetings, who do I inform? |
| Your first contact will be with your Hub colleagues who will attempt to contact the student (via email or phone) and arrange with them (and you) a suitable time for the student to attend a meeting. If the student has issues regarding attendance and engagement it is possible that a meeting will be set up for the student with the Head of School. In some situations regarding lack of attendance and engagement, the issue may be sent to the Senate Student Disciplinary Committee through General Regulation 13 |

| The Calendar (Regulations) holds all the University's policies, regulations and procedures. You can also search by headings for regulation/policy documents in the Document Library |

| You can find contact numbers, email addresses and staffing plans of the Hubs by clicking on the Hubs link |
| A student has issues with the placement they are on, what can I advise them? |
| You should ask them to speak to their adviser, School Placement Organiser or they can go and see their Hub |
| A student has come to me with personal problems, how can I advise them? |
| The best advice would be to ask them to visit the Dean of Students office on campus. They have trained staff who can help a student with a wide range of issues including health, financial, disability and general wellbeing advice |
| How do I use Blackboard? |

| How do I find out about the University's committees structure? |

| How does the University communicate with me about changes to policy/regulations? |
| The University will communicate changes via a number of ways, via University Committee minutes via the Committee Office, feedback via Associate Deans' and Teaching Directors, amendments to the University Calendar, Public events, Annual LTS briefing documents and briefing sessions. The LTS website will also highlight any relevant amends to policy and regulations. |
