Arrivals and Registration
- · To understand QAA Academic Review and Institutional Audit processes and requirements so as to be able to contribute to and support the preparations for any reviews.
- · To provide preparatory support for professional body accreditation.
- · Administration of the Annual Unit Monitoring exercise , collection of Unit evaluation information and preparation of statistics
- · Administration of Peer Review of Teaching schemes (where appropriate)
- · Administration of Annual Course update activities including Programme specifications preparation and annual review
- · Ensuring compliance with QAA Codes of Practice
- · Ensuring data is correct in the Common Course Structure Course Catalogue and on SITS
- · Ensuring PGT units and profile information is accurate
- · Ensuring that there are accurate Degree Regulations and Instructions to Examiners for each programme
- · General teaching administration - overseeing timetabling, room bookings, coursework schedule, overseeing enrolment and marks entry and all teaching-related School procedures e.g. penalties for late submission
- · Concessions – advising, drafting concessions and seeking approval
- · Correspondence with students (disciplinary, plagiarism, intercalation, and other communications regarding their studies)
- · Complaints and Appeal investigation and drafting responses
- · Information/Literature preparation - Student Guides and handbooks, Staff Handbooks including Web versions
- · Internal communication of information on teaching developments and changes in programmes
- · Administration of placement arrangements and procedures including liaison with external Placement Providers.
Committee Support
- · To provide support, for example, to School Teaching Directors, School Working Groups and Staff Student liaison bodies including the provision of procedural advice and follow-up action.
Student Records and numbers - forecasts and actuals
- · To ensure, for each student registered, that accurate and up-to-date data are maintained on the corporate student record and, where necessary, in School files.
- · To abide by the provisions of the Data Protection legislation in the handling of student data.
- · To provide management information and advice about student numbers e.g. to support student number target setting.
Arrivals and Registration
- · Management of the Registration of returning UG and PGT students
- · Management of the Registration and Induction of new UG and PGT students
Staff Supervision/Office Budget
- · To provide appropriate guidance and support to supervised staff.
- · To assist in the recruitment, management and appraisal of secretarial and clerical staff.
- · Day-to-day responsibility for the office budget and for advising the Faculty Manager thereon.
Academic Background
Assessment
- · To provide Secretarial services to Examination Boards in the School.
- · To ensure that there are office systems for the collection and recording of marks/grades.
- · To ensure the presentation of full information to the Chair of Examiners.
- · To advise the Chairs and Boards on assessment procedures and ensure the transmission of the Boards’ recommendations to the Registrar and Secretary.
- · To provide advice to the Head of School, staff and students on the University academic appeals and complaints procedures.
- · Administration of the appointment of Examiners and Exam Boards
- · Undertaking correspondence with External Examiners in preparation for meetings
- · Undertaking correspondence with students regarding prizes, re-assessment, disciplinary matters etc.
- · Administration of UEA non-standard examinations including those for special exam candidates
- · Administration of Professional body examinations in liaison with the University Exams office
