Funding for postgraduate study is available both from UEA and from a number of external schemes. Applicants should note that many award schemes have early closing dates and may require the acceptance of the offer of a place as a condition of eligibility. If you wish to apply for funding, you are therefore strongly advised to apply to the Law School before 1st March in the calendar year of entry. Please indicate in your application that you wish to be considered for an award.

Fees, scholarships and funding
Fees for the academic year 2012/2013 will be:
- UK/EU Students: £5,000 (full time), £2,500* (part time)
- International Students: £11,900 (full time)
* for each year of the course
International applicants from outside the EU may need to pay a deposit.
Living Expenses
Approximately £7,500 living expenses will be needed to adequately support yourself.

British Council Scholarships
A number of LLM students receive funding from the British Council. International students should contact their local British Council office for further information. Click here for a link to the British Council website.

University and Law School Scholarships 2012/13
Postgraduate applicants who have not secured another source of funding can apply for a number of scholarships and bursaries offered by the Law School.
Law School 2012 LLM Scholarships
International applicants who apply to the Law School for an LLM are automatically considered for a scholarship. The scholarships are worth between £1,000 and £3,000 are assessed on academic merit.
Kazakhstan Scholarships
Two scholarships worth £1,000 each are offered to applicants from the New Independent States of the Soviet Union, ie Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence. Eligible applicants should indicate on their application form that they wish to be considered for this award. Applications should be received by 30 May 2012.
Turkey – Yeditepe University Scholarship
In recognition of ongoing constructive discussion between the Law School and Yeditepe University, the School will consider offering one full scholarship to a student recommended by the Dean of Yeditepe Law School.
Thailand – Thammasat University Scholarships
In recognition of ongoing constructive discussion between the Law School and Thammasat University, the School will consider offering applicants who have graduated from Thammasat University who apply for an LLM a scholarship worth 10% of LLM fees.
LLM Employment Law Scholarships
Students who enrol on the LLM Employment Law after completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Employment Law are eligible to receive an exemption worth 30% of LLM fees.
Bursaries Specific to Current UEA Students
University of East Anglia LLB Student Bursaries – Law School
All UEA LLB students accepted onto an LLM programme will be automatically assigned a bursary worth 20% of LLM fees.
University of East Anglia Student Bursaries
All UEA students accepted onto an LLM programme will be automatically assigned a bursary worth 10% of LLM fees. The bursaries are worth £500 to Home/EU applicants and £1,190 to International applicants.
