Jacqui joined the UEA as a Commercial Law Lecturer on the Postgraduate taught International Law courses in September 2008. Until then, she had practiced as a solicitor (qualifying in 1991) in the City of London, having trained and spent three years post qualification with Slaughter and May and nearly eight years in-house as a Director and Senior Counsel (partner equivalent) with Merrill Lynch in London. Her practice areas include international commercial, trade finance, security and banking law, with recent focus on financial services law and regulation and international dispute resolution.
Jacqui is the Careers Liaison Officer for the Law School, and would be happy to share her experiences with anyone considering a career in commercial law or in the City.
Jacqui is also the Director of Postgraduate Programmes and Postgraduate Tutor and, in light of her practice experience, teaches predominantly at Postgraduate level, including Foundations of International Commercial Law, International Commercial Arbitration and Payment and Finance in International Trade.
